Business
United Parcel Service, Inc. (UPS) is a leading global package delivery and supply chain management company that provides time-definite delivery of packages and documents; air and ground shipping services including overnight, two-day, and ground options; international package operations serving more than 220 countries and territories; supply chain solutions encompassing freight forwarding, customs brokerage, contract logistics, distribution, consulting, and worldwide supply chain design and execution; less-than-truckload (LTL) transportation primarily in the U.S.; and retail services through The UPS Store network for small business support and shipments. Headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, with founding roots in Seattle, Washington, in 1907, UPS operates one of the world's largest airlines and alternative fuel vehicle fleets, delivering an average of 22.4 million packages daily to customers across business-to-consumer, business-to-business, and residential segments in over 200 countries and territories. In recent developments, UPS agreed in April 2025 to acquire Andlauer Healthcare Group Inc. for approximately US$1.6 billion to bolster specialized healthcare logistics and cold chain capabilities; sold its Ware2Go subsidiary to Stord in May 2025 while establishing a related partnership; reached an agreement in principle in early 2025 with its largest customer to reduce volume by more than 50% by mid-2026; insourced its entire UPS SurePost product effective January 1, 2025; and launched multi-year network reconfiguration and efficiency initiatives expected to yield $1 billion in savings through 2027, including potential facility consolidations and workforce reductions.
